Live Project.

I have had many problems with starting  this project first off i was planing on making a music video for a Congolese band based in Leeds. The video would have been perfect for this brief as the video is going to be shown on tv all over Africa. I was asked to make this video a while back however i still have not heard anything from them about what they want from there video and i have not even heard the song. I am still going to make this video however i think i might use it for my ppd instead as they are not the most reliable band there would be a big chance that i might not be able to get this finished in time for my live project. The second thing i was going to use for this live project was a making of documentary that i have been working on for a film called On the solders of giants. I have been to a couple of days of filming and have found in really interesting being on a film set and seeing how it works how ever after talking to the director of the film it seems that he does not want me to edit the documentary but just to collect footage.

After a crit with Anna i desiced to look into the Toronto minute film festival. All entry’s must be a minute long this is from opening to closing credits and on the theme of social. After reading through the brief i decided to brain storm ideas for what i can do. I have always wanted to make a documentary about drugs and students attitudes towards them.

I think that this documentary could be very interesting however i know that people will not be very comfortable talking on camera about there drug habits.  to get around this i was thinking about turning it into an animation kind of like Creature Comforts. the only problem with this is that i am going to have to be very careful about how i approach this project as i could very easily end up offending people as drugs are a very serious subject matter. I am also going to have to think very carefully about the audience for this documentary as well as what i am trying to say with this film.
